The Details

Children's Book Drive ("Write To Read" & Delco Literacy Council) (Weekend Events – January 17 or 18)
“Write To Read” is a regional Family Literacy Initiative whose goal is to provide at least one beloved children’s book to every child in Delaware County. These donated books will be matched with a child who has few or no books in the home.

On Saturday, January 17, staff from the Delaware County Literacy Council and local volunteers will be on hand from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Providence Friends Meeting, 105 North Providence Road, Media, to collect your new or gently used children’s books.

“Write To Read” organizers request that you write a dedication in the book(s) describing a special book memory or why you or your child loved it so.

Books are needed for children 0-10 years old. The baby board books collected that day will help launch a new campaign to reach first-time parents.

For more information, contact Joanne Sutton-Smith, Director of Family Literacy Outreach or Madeline Bialecki, Executive Director of the Delaware County Literacy Council, at 610-876-4811

DCLC provides free, individual and small group literacy instruction to Delaware County adults who have low literacy skills. Free tutor training is offered regularly throughout the year, and we have a great need for tutors. Visit or call 610 876-4811 for more information.
